On March 2, Renovate America announced that the Hillsborough County Commission had approved a measure that will give homeowners access to the HERO PACE financing program.
According to Renovate, the Hillsborough County Commission formally adopted the HERO Program by voting to join the Florida Development Finance Corporation’s residential PACE Program. The FDFC has initially partnered with Renovate America, administrator of the HERO program.
The PACE financing firm stressed that HERO financing is scheduled to launch in Hillsborough County and in communities across Florida later this year.
Bill Spivey, Executive Director of the Florida Development Finance Corporation noted:
The County Commission’s vote will make PACE financing accessible for hundreds of thousands of Hillsborough County homeowners, empowering them to make their homes more hurricane resilient, energy efficient and sustainable. By spurring more home improvement activity, this vote is also a vote to boost small businesses in Hillsborough County and across the Tampa Bay region.
Per Renovate, in the five years the HERO program has been active, more than 88,000 homeowners have used it to finance more than $2.1 billion in energy and efficiency improvements throughout the United States.
