Trilliant acquires Ingenu’s smart grid application business

On November 2, Trilliant, a provider of smart communications platforms for utilities and cities, announced it will acquire Ingenu’s smart grid application business. Trilliant will assume Ingenu’s smart grid customers and acquire its advanced metering infrastructure management software. Trilliant will also license Ingenu’s Random Phase Multiple Access (RPMA) network technology to integrate into its Smart Communications Platform.

Andrew White, Trilliant’s chairman and chief executive officer remarked:

“With a multitude of proven worldwide deployments, Ingenu’s RPMA technology offers an extremely reliable and robust communications solution for smart grid connectivity. The addition of RPMA to our Smart Communications Platform will provide utilities with the simplicity of one platform supporting multiple technologies that is built with open standards, and having broad industry support. Additionally, Trilliant’s decades-long expertise in AMI and smart grid integration will provide Ingenu’s utility customers with a rich set of services and solutions to manage their valuable network assets.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Ingenu will continue to develop and support the network infrastructure based on its RPMA technology.

John Horn, chief executive officer, Ingenu commented:”We are looking forward to working with Trilliant to bring enhanced capabilities and connectivity options to the utility market. As a leader in the smart grid space, Trilliant is the right partner to serve the utility vertical market. Trilliant’s acquisition of the Ingenu Smart Grid business will allow us to shift resources and focus on enhancing our RPMA technology while expanding the Machine Network.”
